Fringe by the sea

I’ve captured Fringe by the Sea from the air since 2021, creating cinematic images that connect the festival to North Berwick’s coastline. Award-winning shots and broadcast features have helped promote the event widely, with new perspectives each year.

Frankenstein

A personal drone experiment at Seacliff Beach led to a commission from Canadian studio Herne Hill to film aerial sequences for Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Working with Hazel Palmer and the Inspire 3, our footage ultimately appeared in the final film.

TPF - Universal Epic Resorts

Recommended by Historic Environment Scotland, I was hired to capture a Universal Studios projection event at Edinburgh Castle. Flying at night inside the castle grounds was a one-off experience, producing vivid footage of light, colour and ancient stone brought to life.

Loretto School

Across 2023–2024, I filmed Loretto School through all four seasons using repeated waypoint flights to blend winter-to-autumn transitions seamlessly. Combined with detailed architectural shots, the work now forms a long-term visual archive for the school.

LNER

I captured photography and video of LNER trains across iconic coastal and rural locations from Berwickshire to Edinburgh and the Forth Rail Bridge. Carefully timed flights produced a curated visual library celebrating the landscape, engineering, and precision of each passing train.

Eleanor Cunningham

I was commissioned to capture the geology of East Lothian’s coastline, creating aerial imagery that inspired artist Eleanor Cunningham’s paintings and a later exhibition with composer Chris Tolley. A rare basking shark encounter added an unexpected highlight to the project.

Scottish Seabird Centre – Craigleith Island

A rare chance to film the protected Craigleith Island, home to endangered seabirds. With no human activity and an ancient stillness, it felt like stepping into another time. A privileged project alongside conservationists and scientists.

BUCCLEUCH ESTATES - SHAWFAIR

A long term aerial project documenting the creation of Shawfair, a major new town in Midlothian. From empty fields to emerging streets, this film captures the evolving landscape and helps developers showcase scale, progress and potential to future investors.

Macdonald Hotels - Forest Hills

I photographed Forest Hills Hotel during a rare winter cloud inversion, capturing atmospheric aerial imagery of the Trossachs for Macdonald Hotels. The eerie stillness, shifting mist and alpine feel produced some of my favourite work and led to further commissions.

Teenage Fanclub – In Our Dreams - Music Video

I flew drones inside and outside Motherwell Civic Centre to capture Teenage Fanclub’s live performance and the building’s striking architecture. The final video blended aerial and ground footage into a cinematic portrait of sound and structure.
